Abstract
:
The main aim of this study with its both theoretical and field aspects was identifying the impact of the application of the overall quality control on press and information corporations in particular as well as identifying these outcomes resulting from the application of the conception of the overall quality control through its implementation in Okaz Press and Publishing Corporation due to the intense competition between press and information corporations in particular in the light of the introduction of modern mass-media including electronic newspapers into this field. Information was collected through the distribution of a questionnaire to 225 employees working in Okaz Press and Publishing Corporation in Jeddah. It involves four major research topics. Under each research topic a number of questions are listed. The results of this questionnaire were analyzed through performing statistical processing such as computing frequencies, percentages, the prevalent view of means according to Richart tripartite scale, the standard deviation, the application of Alpha-Cronbach method for defining the degree of stability of collecting data as well as Pearson Correlation Coefficient for identifying the reliability degree of this study tool, and the application of T-test for making comparison between the means of two separate groups so as to know if the difference between means is statistically-significant at a certain significant level. This study has concluded the following results: - The application of the overall quality control is the way for raising its performance and achieving excellence over its competitors through the agreement of the responses of 73.3% of the study sample. It is necessary for the higher administration of this corporation to take interest in conducting training courses in the field of the overall quality. In the light of these concluded results, the researcher has presented a number of recommendations such as: - The constant improvement of service should go along with the interest in the motivating aspect of the employee and the response to his requirements. - Conducting bi-annual or annual questionnaire for identifying the view of those people who get benefit from its services, improving the service offered and the encouragement to give proposals. - In addition, being concerned with the training aspect of every employee and conducting workshops. - Finally, the success of the overall quality control requires an effective and active leadership at all administrative levels since leadership represents the cornerstone in the success of the overall quality control.
